Tablevogue Triple Crown Recap: Preakness Stakes

10th Jun 2015

Table Talk: Preakness Stakes by Tablevogue

In light of American Pharoah making history by winning the Triple Crown this past weekend - we decided to put together a series of entries about one of our favorite reasons to celebrate one of the most popular sporting events of the year. Kentucky Derby & horse race inspired parties have been on trend this past year and you don’t have to make the trip to the Pimlico Race Course or even Maryland to experience the event. Tablevogue gets you started, plan your own Preakness party with amazing food, cocktails, decorations, and more!

Party Like You're Sitting At Turfside Terrace: Tablevogue Serving Style

While you may not be able to reach out and touch the horses as they fly by - you can treat yourself to magnificent views of the Racecourse’s Home Stretch and Finish Line straight from your entertaining space. Create an all-inclusive premium Tablevogue buffet and bar - stocked with beer & fine wines.

Incorporate Preakness States' logo colors into your event set up by using Red, Black and Mimosa Tablevogues.

To top it all off, the machine-washable material allows you to serve red wine without thinking twice about bottle rings or spills. Throw a sophisticated bar together in mere moments – and create a buzz at your Preakness Stakes soiree.

The Black-eyed Susan – Preakness Stakes Perfection

According to Southern Living, this cocktail’s name is taken from the flowers used to make the blanket that drapes the winning horse at the Preakness in Baltimore, Maryland. Made with orange and pineapple juice, vodka, light rum, and orange liqueur, it's a Plimlico winner in our book too. We prefer using St. Germain liqueur!

Ingredients

3/4 cup orange juice

1/2 cup pineapple juice

3 tablespoons vodka

3 tablespoons light rum

2 tablespoons orange liqueur

Crushed ice

Garnishes: lime slices, fresh cherries

Preparation

1. Stir together first 5 ingredients. Fill 2 (12-oz.) glasses with crushed ice. Pour orange juice mixture over ice. Garnish, if desired. Serve immediately.
